Fortnite Reload Elite Series at EWC 26 Survival Guide

Aug 18, 2026.

The final week of the Esports World Cup 2026 brings one of the world’s biggest shooters to center stage as the Fortnite Reload Elite Series 2026 Championship kicks off, setting the stage for a high-octane battle to crown its inaugural champion.

A unique take on Fortnite’s genre-defining battle royale gameplay, every match of Fortnite at EWC 26 will be played under Reload rules, a frenetic and fast-paced take on the classic formula. Players can respawn back into the action at a moment’s notice, while the circle closes faster than ever, pushing teams to make split-second decisions and their competitive skills to the limit.

The Reload Elite Series Championship kicked off earlier this year, introducing a brand-new way to play competitive Fortnite. Teams from around the globe battled through preliminary heats to earn their place in the series, with 40 duos now set to clash on the grand stage in Paris to crown the inaugural Reload Elite Series Championship winner.

Experience meets chaos

Veteran Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf brings a legendary résumé to the Reload Elite Series Championship. The first-ever Fortnite World Cup champion remains one of the game’s most recognizable names, and now he’ll look to add an EWC title to his collection alongside teammate Braydz.

Bugha isn’t the only veteran bringing experience to Paris. Shane “EpikWhale” Cotton and teammate PXMP also enter the competition with years of experience at the highest level. While Reload’s frenetic pace may reward lightning-fast reactions, veteran composure and decision-making could prove just as valuable when the pressure peaks.

A duo beyond their years

A new format could be the perfect stage for a new generation of Fortnite stars. At just 14 years old, REJECT’s tomat and Mofu are among the youngest competitors at EWC 26, but their age has done little to limit their impact. The Japanese duo emerged as the top performers from Asia, winning their regional qualifier and punching their ticket to the Reload Elite Series Championship. They also topped the official Asia Reload Elite Series leaderboard with 366 points and two Victory Royales, showing they have the firepower to make noise on the biggest stage.

Fortnite takes center stage

Hype for the Reload Elite Series Championship is through the roof, with tickets for the Fortnite main stage already sold out. Fans can still experience the action in person, however, with watch parties taking place across the venue on the Qiddiya City BattleGrounds stages. All fans need is a valid Fan Fest ticket for the day to watch the competition unfold.

The stakes extend beyond the Fortnite trophy, with major Club Championship implications on the line. Team Falcons enter with one of the world’s most feared duos in Peter “Peterbot” Kata and Miguel “Pollo” Moreno, who have dominated the North American competitive scene. AG.AL have also loaded up with two of Europe’s top competitors, Nikolaj “Sky” Helleskov and Adrian “Scroll” Richelieu, while Team Vitality are bringing another European duo in Albert “PabloWingu” Nyeborg and Tino “Tjino” Shah. With the Club Championship nearing its conclusion, there is everything to play for in Fortnite at EWC 26.
