Week 6 EWC Club Championship Update
Aug 13, 2025.
Take a look at where the top clubs stand as we head into the final stretch of the 2025 Esports World Cup Club Championship.

We're nearly through the entirety of the 2025 Esports World Cup, and the rankings in the Club Championship are becoming harder to climb. That doesn't mean things won't change, as the final seven competitions – including everything from TFT at EWC 25 to SF6 at EWC 25 – wrap up over the next two weeks.
Currently, Team Liquid and Team Falcons are neck and neck in a race to take home $7,000,000 in prize money. Either could win, or another contender, like Team Vitality or Twisted Minds, could rise unexpectedly to steal the trophy.
Let's break down how we got here and how things could change as the Club Championship continues.

Team Liquid
Team Liquid holds a 500-point lead over Team Falcons in the Club Championship ranking after securing first-place finishes in Chess at EWC 25, MSC at EWC 25, and the FC Pro World Championship at 2025 Esports World Cup. The club has performed exceptionally well in nearly every competition they’ve entered, only falling short in ALGS at EWC 25.
The multi-faceted club still has teams competing in five of the remaining seven competitions, so they could extend their lead in the coming weeks.

Team Falcons
Things looked shaky for Team Falcons through the first four weeks of the 2025 Esports World Cup. The reigning champions could not secure a first-place finish in any of the eleven competitions they participated in. Some teams came close with third-place and second-place finishes, including American chess grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura and the Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf-led Dota 2 squad, but couldn’t seal the deal when it mattered most.
Relief finally came when Team Falcons’ Overwatch 2 superteam crushed the competition in the semifinal and final of the OWCS MSC at EWC 25. The win qualified Team Falcons for the Club Championship and thrust them into first place over Team Liquid.
That lead didn't last long, as Team Liquid retook first place with a win in the FC Pro World Championship at 2025 Esports World Cup a week later. Overall, the birds of prey have fallen short of expectations in many endeavors. The squad missed out on points in six of the 15 tournaments they’ve participated in so far. They still have seven more chances to catch up and surpass Team Liquid.

Team Vitality
This French club currently sits in third place, 550 points behind Team Vitality, after finding success in MWI at EWC 25. Team Vitality also earned three third-place finishes in Rennsport at EWC 25, Free Fire at EWC 25, and the FC Pro World Championship at 2025 Esports World Cup. It will take more than that to get them back into the running for a first-place finish in the overall Club Championship.
Team Vitality has four competitions remaining in their run at the 2025 Esports World Cup. A surge of points is certainly possible, as Team Vitality is favored in both Rocket League ft. at EWC 25 and CS2 at EWC 25.

Virtus.pro
Despite sitting in fourth place in the overall rankings, Virtus.pro has yet to secure the first-place finish required to qualify for the Club Championship top spot. The Eastern European organization still has seven competitions left in their run at the 2025 Esports World Cup, more than enough to give them a chance to climb the ranks. The club is a favorite in CS2 at EWC 25 and nearly won COD WZ at EWC 25. Coming close is far from enough, though.

Twisted Minds
Twisted Minds finally earned a hard-fought 2025 Esports World Cup trophy as the dust settled on Rebirth Island during COD WZ at EWC 25. That win propelled the local club up the standings into fifth place, right on the heels of Virtus.pro. Twisted Minds still has six competitions left to help them climb the overall leaderboard.
Those are the clubs with the best shot at securing a first-place finish and $7,000,000 in the Club Championship. Other clubs high on the leaderboard, like AG.AL and Gen.G Esports, have only two events left. It will take a combination of incredible performances from them and major disappointments by the teams up top to give them a chance to move up, let alone a shot at first place.
