The Intel Extreme Masters Kraków 2026 concluded with a dominant performance from Team Vitality, who captured the title with a commanding 3–1 victory over FURIA in Kraków, Poland.

Amid a deep field of 24 elite Counter-Strike 2 clubs competing for a $1 million prize pool and early season bragging rights, Team Vitality, a cub that had directly qualified due to strong performances in January, delivered a composed and powerful run through play-in, group stages, and the playoff bracket to secure the championship.

Intel Extreme Masters Kraków 2026 served as one of the first major LAN events of the CS2 season, offering fans and analysts an early look at how top clubs were shaping up with their rosters ahead of the 2026 competitive calendar. With international competition heating up early in the year, results from Kraków provided insight into which teams might carry momentum into bigger stages like the upcoming Cologne Major and the 2026 Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Group play and play-in action were competitive, with upsets, breakout performances, and well-known names alike battling for their spots in the playoffs. As the event progressed, the knockout rounds brought heightened intensity. Vitality’s path to the final was marked by execution from key players, few more impactful than Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, whose MVP-caliber performance helped drive Vitality through the bracket.

The grand final pitched Vitality against FURIA, a familiar top-tier foe. After dropping the opening map, Vitality rebounded with authority, winning three straight maps to clinch the title and underline their status as one of the CS2 scene’s elite clubs.

From Kraków to Riyadh

Intel Extreme Masters tournaments are key milestones on the international competitive circuit, and performances here set the tone for the rest of the season. Vitality’s win in Kraków gives them momentum heading into the next stretch of premier events, including ESL Pro League and the Cologne Major, and positions them as a stronger contender than they were at EWC  2025, where they finished outside the grand final.

Several notable storylines emerged from Kraków beyond the champions. FURIA showcased resilience with a deep lower‑bracket run to the final, reinforcing their status as world class after winning IEM Chengdu in late 2025. Underdog squads also made waves: Aurora Gaming earned a top‑6 placement in Kraków with wins over established teams like Falcons and MOUZ, building on their second‑place finish at EWC  2025.

Meanwhile, clubs like The MongolZ, who were the EWC  2025 champions, and other familiar names faced tougher results in Kraków, highlighting how the competitive landscape has shifted.

Road to EWC

Adding to the excitement in Kraków, legendary Counter-Strike player Jarosław “pashaBiceps” Jarząbkowski made a special appearance on behalf of the Esports World Cup. Fans had the chance to meet him in person, take photos, and hear stories from his storied career. His visit brought a celebratory and community-focused element to the event, connecting the legacy of CS esports with the current season’s rising stars.

As teams continue on the Road to Esports World Cup, results in premier events like IEM Kraków 2026 will influence seeding, confidence, and narrative heading into larger CS2 global showdowns later in the year. Clubs are still solidifying strategies and chemistry, and early victories like Vitality’s in Kraków could prove pivotal as the competitive season unfolds.
