Nongshim RedForce brings home VCT Masters Santiago trophy

Mar 20, 2026.

Nongshim RedForce dominated VCT Masters Santiago, sweeping Paper Rex 3-0 in the Grand Final at Espacio Riesco in Santiago, Chile. The victory earned them the $350,000 top prize and 6 VCT Points, placing them among the top teams in the current VALORANT field.

VCT Masters Santiago brought together 12 of the world’s best VALORANT teams from across the Americas, EMEA, China, and Pacific regions. Teams competed in a Swiss stage to secure spots in the double-elimination playoffs, producing competitive matches and several close series throughout the event. Nongshim RedForce, an all-Korean roster, entered the playoffs directly after finishing first at the Pacific Kickoff earlier this year, giving them a strong position in the upper bracket.

Once in the playoffs, Nongshim RedForce proved why they were a top team. They opened with a 2-0 win over Gentle Mates, showcasing precise executes and strong defensive coordination. Next, they faced G2 Esports in a hard-fought 2-1 series, edging the American squad with disciplined play and clutch rounds. In the Upper Bracket Final, Nongshim RedForce defeated NRG 2-0, securing their place in the Grand Final and demonstrating consistent dominance throughout the bracket.

The team capped off their run with a decisive 3-0 sweep over Paper Rex in the Grand Final, claiming the tournament title and $350,000 top prize.

From Riyadh to Santiago

The field at VCT Masters Santiago looked drastically different from last summer’s Esports World Cup in Riyadh. EWC 25 champions Team Heretics were absent, leaving the stage open for new contenders to rise.

Several clubs from Riyadh returned to compete, including Paper Rex, NRG, and G2 Esports. Of these, only Paper Rex, who finished fourth in Riyadh, came close to securing the trophy, ultimately falling to Nongshim RedForce in the Grand Final.

NRG and G2 Esports delivered solid campaigns, finishing third and fourth respectively, but both exited before the final match. The tournament highlighted a reshaped international field with strong representation from multiple regions and confirmed the depth of competition heading into the remainder of 2026.

Road to EWC

With VCT Masters Santiago complete, attention shifts to VCT Masters London and the Esports World Cup 2026. Nongshim RedForce’s dominant performance puts them at the top of the current cycle, while Paper Rex, NRG, and G2 Esports leave Santiago with valuable VCT Points and momentum heading into the next stage of competition.

Qualification through regional leagues and upcoming international events will determine the next field for the Esports World Cup 2026. Teams across the Americas, EMEA, China, and Pacific regions are already preparing to secure their spots. With Championship Points and prize pools on the line, the stage is set for intense competition. The road to the Esports World Cup 2026 is in full swing.
