With a dominant run throughout the tournament, French Club Karmine Corp took the top prize in Rocket League featured at 2025 Esports World Cup, as they secured their second major victory of the year, cementing their status as Rocket League favourites

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (August 17, 2025) - Karmine Corp have lifted the Rocket League featured at 2025 Esports World Cup trophy after securing an incredible 4-1 victory over Geekay Esports. They secured a $400,000 share of the total $1,000,000 prize pool for their efforts.

The triumph at EWC 25 is Karmine Corp’s second major victory of 2025, having won the Birmingham Major earlier in the year, proving they are able to bounce back from their recent loss at the RLCS Raleigh Major to Twisted Minds. Going forward, Karmine Corp will be the team to beat in 2025.

Karmine Corp dominated the grand final in an incredible 4-1 victory over Geekay Esports, where they raced to a 3-0 score, and at the time, they had not conceded a single goal. However, Geekay Esports fought back to secure a match win, stopping Karmine Corp at the first opportunity on match point. At the second chance to secure the series on match point, Karmine Corp were able to close it out, securing a dominant grand final win.

Geekay Esports booked their place in the grand final following a nail-biting win over Team Vitality. That semi final bout went right down to the wire, as Team Vitality mounted a comeback to force a final game seven, which went into overtime – Geekay were able to score their golden goal to book their place in the grand final.

Karmine Corp took down Team Falcons on their way to the grand final, and as a result, they will head into the RLCS 2025 World Championship as one of the favourites given just how dominant they have been this year, in no small part due to their incredible run at the 2025 Esports World Cup.

“I’m feeling great, it was a good match, we played really well, and I'm proud of my team. I love my team. It means a lot [to win], they will have more money now, so that’s a good point. I’m really happy to be in Karmine Corp, and yeah, we just won, so I’m really proud of everyone,” said Axel "Vatira" Touret.

Samy "dralii" Hajji was named the SONY MVP, after his incredible performance throughout the duration of the Rocket League featured at EWC 25 event. After accepting his award, he said, “I always play really well in Saudi Arabia, I think it’s the hospitality, and even the tournaments. I love them, they are incredible.” The victory was dralii’s third Rocket League major title, and makes him a back-to-back EWC champion, having won in 2024 with Team BDS.

Karmine Corp earned 1000 Club Championship points for their victory, climbing 34 places to move into joint-eleventh place. The victory in Rocket League, alongside their fifth place finish earlier in the tournament, ends Karmine Corp's brief, but successful showing at EWC 25.

Elsewhere, Team Falcons ended up in third place after beating Team Vitality in the decider, securing 500 points in the process – while it was disappointing for the roster not to claim the victory, they did still build upon their lead at the top of the Club Championship standings. Team Falcons ended Week 6 with a 500 point lead over second place Team Liquid, with just three chances to gain points remaining.
