Four Must-Watch Players in Week 4 of EWC 25

Jul 30, 2025.

The action never slows down at the 2025 Esports World Cup, with Week 4 promising some of the most exciting matchups of the tournament.

We’re deep into the action at the 2025 Esports World Cup, and legends have already been forged as players reign triumphant over their competition — raising trophies, and crushing the keys, hopes, and dreams of their opponents.

Along that path to victory, many stories are told — but only some become tales of champions. Below, we’ve compiled the four most compelling stories from Week 4. Will these players rise above the competition, or fall in the wake of greatness?

Magnus Carlsen, Team Liquid - Chess at EWC 25

Magnus Carlsen is the biggest name in chess. The Norwegian grandmaster has one of the most impressive résumés in the game, and at Chess at EWC 25, he looks to add one more trophy to his cabinet.

While many opponents stand in the way of this coronation, perhaps none are more dangerous than Levon Aronian. The chess prodigy is a former Rapid and Blitz world champion — like Magnus — and most recently bypassed Carlsen to win the Las Vegas leg of the Freestyle Grand Slam. His head-to-head record with Magnus is also impressive, meaning if there’s a chance of an upset, it will likely come from the Armenian grandmaster.

Taha "Soulless" Avşar, Fire Flux Esports - PUBG MOBILE World Cup at EWC 25

Taha "Soulless" Avşar is one of the strongest and most decorated players on a Fire Flux Esports roster that consistently performs at the highest levels of the European region. With multiple wins in European Championship finals and a victory at the IESF World Esports Championships 2024 under his belt, Soulless and the rest of Fire Flux have one stumbling block: winning on the international stage.

After a day of competition in the survival stage, Fire Flux sits at the top of the leaderboard, almost guaranteeing a spot in the grand finals. With that secured, Soulless and his squad will have just a single hurdle between them and victory on a global platform.

Chae "HeeSang" Hee-sang, Crazy Racoon - OWCS: MidSeason Championship at EWC 25

In 2025, the OWCS feels like a two-horse race. We’ve practically lost count of how many finals over the past year have seen Team Falcons and Crazy Raccoon clash in the finals. But over the course of this rivalry, Crazy Raccoon have edged ahead, and leading the charge is DPS star Chae "HeeSang" Hee-sang.

A prototypical DPS whose Genji and Tracer are what other players aspire to be, he’s one of the most dominant and mechanically skilled players in the entire tournament. If you’re looking for top-quality Overwatch, look no further than HeeSang.

Muhammad "Toyy" Rizky, RRQ Hoshi - MSC at EWC 25

Despite a relatively short career in ML:BB, Muhammad "Toyy" Rizky is already one of the best players in Indonesia and perhaps the world. Having spent his entire career on RRQ Hoshi, he’s seen the team rise from a B-tier hopeful to winners of the MDL Indonesia Season 10 in 2024.

Throughout his career, the MCS favorites ONIC have been a thorn in Toyy’s side. This year alone, they’ve eliminated RRQ from two A-tier finals. At EWC 25, Toyy and the rest of RRQ have a chance to eliminate not one, but both ONIC teams and secure one of the biggest prizes in ML:BB history.

With hundreds of matches taking place over the next week, new legends will rise as champions are crowned and rivals are toppled. Watch the Esports World Cup 2025 live or check out the ticket options to watch the games in person!
